Solar Pathway Lights in Frosted Glass Ice Brick Form
These solar pathway lights look like small blocks of ice. Each one is a 2.8 inch cube of imitation crystal glass on an ABS base, with the solar panel set into the top and an LED underneath that lights the bubbles and ripples cast into the glass. There is no wiring. A push switch on the base arms them, the panel charges a 600mAh battery through the day, and a light sensor turns them on at dusk and off at dawn. They are rated IP54 and come in warm white, white, blue or green.

Most solar pathway lights are a lamp head on a spike, which means a row of them reads as a line of small posts down the side of a path. These do the opposite. They sit flat on the ground at 2 inches high, so by day they look like glass paperweights dropped in the planting, and by night the path is lit from below rather than beside.
Laying Out Solar Lawn Lights on a Path
Because each cube is only 2.8 inches across and lights the ground immediately around it, these work as a series of markers rather than as floodlighting. Spacing of two to three feet gives a readable line of light along a walkway. Wider spacing looks like scattered points, which can be the effect you want in a rockery or a gravel bed.
They sit on the surface rather than pushing into it, so they suit paving, decking, gravel and stone in a way that spiked lights do not. On a lawn that is a mixed blessing. There is nothing anchoring them, so they need lifting before you mow, and they will need setting back in place after heavy rain moves the surface under them.
How the Solar Charging Cycle Behaves
The panel is rated 2V at 100mA and charges a 600mAh battery. That is a small cell, which is the right size for a marker light and the wrong size for anything you expect to floodlight a driveway. Runtime tracks the charge it got that day, so a bright summer day carries the light much further into the night than an overcast winter one.
Placement decides everything. The panel is on the top face, so anything shading the cube during the day costs you light at night: overhanging shrubs, a fence line, a north-facing wall. Wipe the top face clear of leaves and dust every few weeks. There is also a push switch underneath, and the light will not charge or run with it off.
Weather, IP54 and Winter Use
IP54 means protected against dust and against water splashing from any direction. That covers rain, sprinklers and hose spray, which is what a path light meets. It does not cover immersion, so keep them out of ponds, water features and any low spot on a lawn that holds standing water after a storm.
Cold weather affects the battery more than the housing. Rechargeable cells hold less charge as the temperature drops, so expect shorter runtimes through winter even on a clear day. The glass and ABS themselves handle frost, but if a light will spend weeks buried under snow with no sun reaching the panel, it is better lifted and stored until spring.
