Most outdoor lights point one way. This one points two. The wedge is open at both ends, so the top throws a narrow beam up the wall and the bottom spreads a wider one down. You get a bright stripe above and a pool below from a single fixture. The body is only 4.3 in across, so it stays out of the way beside a door.

What the Two Beams Do Outside

The upward beam is narrow. It draws a tall stripe on the wall.

The downward beam is wider and lands as a cone on the ground.

On render or concrete the edge of each beam is crisp.

On stone or brick the texture picks up and the wall looks deeper.

Leave clear wall above the fixture. The upward beam needs somewhere to land.

Under a soffit or a balcony the top beam is wasted.

A row along one wall looks better than a single light in the middle.

Space them evenly and mount them all at the same height.

Around a door, one each side is the simplest arrangement that works.

A wedge shape throws a tighter beam upward than a flat backplate would.

That is why the stripe above is narrow and the pool below is wide.

Mount it at about 70 in for a doorway and lower along a path.

The IP65 Rating Explained

IP65 is two numbers. The 6 is dust and the 5 is water.

A 6 means no dust gets in at all.

A 5 means it handles water jetted at it from any angle.

In practice that covers driving rain, hoses and garden sprinklers.

It does not cover being submerged, so keep it off the ground.

The diffuser is tempered glass rather than plastic, so it will not cloud.

The body is aluminium, which sheds heat and does not rust.

Fix it to a solid wall and seal the cable entry properly.

The supplier lists a wedge base type, which describes the body rather than a lamp fitting.

There is no bulb socket, because the COB LED is bonded to the board.

That is normal for a sealed outdoor fitting and is what keeps the rating honest.

Warm White or Cold White

Warm white is the softer of the two and reads as yellow.

It suits brick, timber and anywhere people sit outside.

Cold white is closer to daylight and looks sharper on concrete.

It makes render and pale stone look clean rather than cosy.

Pick one and use it across the whole run.

Two temperatures on one wall looks like a mistake, because it is.

The LED is built in, so the colour is fixed when you order.

There is no bulb to swap later if you change your mind.

Lighting area is given as 10.8 to 64.6 sq ft per fixture.

Treat that as accent coverage rather than as useful task light.
