Rechargeable Table Lamp with a Green Dome Shade
This little lamp charges up and then runs on its own for about six hours. The green dome sits low over the base and points the light straight down. That keeps the glow on your book and out of your eyes. Tap the top of the shade to switch it on. Tap again to step through three warm settings. It stands 8.3 inches tall with a 6.1 inch shade, so it fits a crowded nightstand without taking the whole surface.

A bedside lamp should be easy to reach in the dark. A switch on the cord is not. You end up feeling along the flex while half asleep. This lamp turns the whole shade into the switch. Tap anywhere on the green dome and it lights. There is no cord to trail off the nightstand either, so the only thing on the table is the lamp itself.
Light That Stays Out of Your Eyes
The dome shade is solid and sits low over the base. All the light leaves through the bottom of the shade. Nothing shines sideways at the person next to you.
That makes it a good reading lamp for a shared bed. The pool of light lands on the page and stops a foot or so past it. Someone asleep beside you is in the dark.
The three settings all sit in the warm range, from 2800K to 3200K. None of them is a cool blue white. Warm light late in the evening is easier on the eyes than daylight white.
Charging and Running Time
A full charge takes about two hours. From there the lamp runs for around six. That covers an evening of reading with room to spare.
The LED panel draws 1W, which is what makes the small battery last. Charge it in the morning and it will see out the night.
Run it on the lowest of the three settings and it lasts longest. The brightest setting pulls the run time down. For reading in bed the middle setting is usually enough.
The light comes from a flat LED panel rather than a bulb, so there is nothing to replace. It also means the lamp lights instantly with no warm up.
Size and Where to Put It
The lamp is 8.3 inches tall. The shade is 6.1 inches across and the base is 3.9 inches. It takes up about as much room as a coffee mug and saucer.
That size suits a nightstand already holding a book and a glass of water. It also works on a shelf, a windowsill or a side table beside a chair.
Because nothing plugs in, you can carry it to a different room and set it down. Pick it up by the stem rather than the shade, which is where the touch sensor sits.
The base is weighted and the whole lamp is 1.8 lb. That is heavy enough to stay put if you brush past it, and light enough to move with one hand.
The shade and base are alloy and stainless steel, so the finish is solid rather than painted plastic. Wipe the green shade with a dry cloth. A gloss surface shows dust.
