Modern Wood Track Lighting Bar with Adjustable Ceiling Spotlights

A track bar does one job well. It puts several small lights on one ceiling point, and each one points somewhere different. That suits a room where a single ceiling light leaves the corners dark. Aim two heads at a bookcase, one at a picture and the rest down the room. The bar is wood rather than metal, so it reads as furniture instead of shop fitting.

Choosing How Many Heads You Need

Head count sets the length of the bar. One head sits on a round 2.8 inch canopy and drops 6.7 inches. Two heads take a 17.7 inch bar. Three take 31.5 inches. Four take 39.4 inches and five take 47.2 inches.

Match the bar to the run you want to light. A 47.2 inch bar covers a long bookcase. A 17.7 inch bar is enough above a reading chair. The single head works as a spot over one picture.

Each head adds 7 watts. A five head bar draws 35 watts in total. That is modest for the amount of light it gives, because the bulbs are LED.

The heads all sit on the one bar, so they share a single ceiling point. You are not running a rail or adding more wiring.

Oak or Walnut

Both finishes are the same oak timber. The walnut version is stained darker. The natural version is left pale.

Pale oak almost disappears against a white or light ceiling. The walnut stain shows up against the same ceiling and reads as a deliberate line.

The heads follow the bar on both, so the fixture stays one tone from end to end. The swivel joints are metal and are the only part that is not wood.

Fitting and Bulbs

The bar screws flat to the ceiling. It is hardwired, so there is no plug and no cord. The supplier ships it as a kit and it needs assembly.

Each head takes a standard E27 screw bulb and the bulbs come with it. Choose white or warm light when you order. The warm bulbs are marked 3000K on the supplier's own cards.

The supplier states that the fixture is not dimmable. The heads throw light downward only, so this is accent and task light rather than a room filler.

One thing to check before you order. The supplier gives the voltage as 220 V, 230 V and 240 V, and lists CCC and CE marks. US mains runs at 120 V and the base is an E27 rather than an E26. Ask us to confirm both before you buy.
