Up and Down Wall Light with a Round Orb Shade
This up and down wall light is a small round orb split across the middle. Light leaves through the open top and the open bottom. One fixture washes the wall above and lights the floor below. The body is plated copper and comes in gold, rose gold, chrome, white or black. It measures 3.9 in wide and 4.9 in tall. That is small enough to sit beside a bed or run along a hallway without crowding the wall.

Most wall lights point one way. This one points two. The orb is cut across the middle, so the top half throws light up and the bottom half throws it down. You get a bright triangle above and a bright triangle below from a single fixture. The body is only 3.9 in wide, so it stays out of the way in a hallway. Five plated finishes cover both warm and cool rooms.
What the Two Beams Actually Do
The light leaves through the open top and bottom of the orb.
Above, it spreads into a wide cone against the wall.
Below, it does the same thing in reverse.
The beams are narrow where they leave the orb and widen as they travel.
That gives two triangles of light rather than a flat wash.
On a textured wall the edge of each beam picks the surface out.
Leave clear wall above and below it. The light needs somewhere to land.
Under a shelf the upward beam has nowhere to go and is wasted.
Two spaced across a wall usually look better than one placed centrally.
In a hallway, set a run at the same height so the beams line up.
Where to Put It
A hallway is the obvious place. The pattern repeats neatly along a run.
Beside a bed it works as a soft reading light without a shade in your eyes.
Beside a bed it sits low enough to read by without a shade in the way.
Above a console it lights the wall and the objects on the surface.
In a stairwell, one on each landing marks the level without a hanging fixture.
It is an indoor fixture rather than a rated outdoor one.
The backplate is small and round, so it covers a standard wall box.
At 2.2 lb it is heavier than it looks, so fix it properly.
Check the clearance if the wall has a picture rail or coving near it.
Finish and Fitting
The body is copper with a plated finish, so the colour is even all over.
It takes a G9 lamp, which is the small pin base used in compact fittings.
Gold and rose gold both warm up under a warm lamp.
Chrome stays cool and reflects whatever colour is around it.
White is the one that disappears against pale plaster.
Black holds its outline in daylight and vanishes at night.
A G9 lamp is small, so nothing pokes out of the open ends.
Keep the lamp warm. A cold white lamp fights the plated finishes.
