This wall light is a frosted acrylic panel with a small metal block across the middle. The block holds the LED, the battery and the controls. The panel glows evenly above and below it. It fixes with a magnet, so the light lifts straight off the wall to charge or to carry into another room. The battery is 3600mAh and charges over USB. The panel is 3.8 in wide and 8.8 in high. Fitting a wall light usually means a wire, a wall box and an electrician. This one needs none of that. A magnetic plate goes on the wall and the light clips onto it. There is no cable and nothing to chase into plaster. When the battery runs low, lift the light off, charge it over USB and put it back. That makes it one of the few real options for a rented flat.

Why the Magnetic Mount Matters

The mounting plate stays on the wall. The light itself is held to it by magnets.

Taking the light down is a single movement. No tools, no unscrewing, no switch to isolate.

That is what makes charging easy. Carry it to a USB port, charge it and put it back on the plate.

It also doubles as a portable light. Lifted off the wall it works on a shelf, in a cupboard or in a power cut.

Check the wall before you fix the plate. The adhesive holds well on painted plaster, tile and sealed timber. On textured wallpaper or bare masonry it will not, and the light is heavy enough to come away.

Touch Dimming or Motion Sensor

The touch version is controlled by hand. Tap the metal block to switch it on and hold to change the brightness.

The sensor version runs itself. It detects movement up to 9.8 ft away, lights up and then switches off again.

That suits a hallway, a landing or a stair wall where you never want to hunt for a switch.

Both versions use the same panel and the same battery. Only the control changes between them.

The sensor version cannot be dimmed by hand. It runs at its set brightness whenever it triggers. If you want to control the level yourself, take the touch version.
