The written dimensions and the photographed form do not sit together obviously here, so confirm which style you are ordering against the images rather than the measurements alone.

G9 Bulbs And Light Output

The fitting uses a G9 base, which is the small two pin capsule rather than a screw fitting. G9 bulbs are compact, which is what allows the shade to stay this small, but they are a different purchase from the E26 and E12 bulbs most fittings use. Check what you have in the drawer before assuming you are covered.

Maximum wattage is 60 watts and no bulb is supplied. A warm white G9 LED is the sensible default: it runs cool, which matters inside a small enclosed porcelain shade, and it will not discolour the shade over time the way a hot halogen capsule eventually can.

Rooms And Mounting

The supplier lists bathrooms, bedrooms, hallways, staircases and living rooms. The tilted drum style is the more useful of the two beside a bed or above a vanity, because the angle puts light where you need it. The flush disc is the better choice in a corridor or a stairwell where anything projecting from the wall is a hazard.

No ingress protection rating is given, so treat it as a general indoor fitting. In a bathroom, keep it outside the immediate splash zones and check the requirements that apply to your own installation before wiring anything in.

Porcelain is more fragile than metal or glass in one specific way: it chips at the rim if it is knocked against something hard. That is worth a thought when choosing a position in a narrow hallway, and worth a little care when unpacking. Weight is 3.5 pounds, which is well within what a standard wall box will hold.
