LED Surface Mount Ceiling Spotlight in Modern Aluminum
A short aluminum cylinder that fixes flat to the ceiling and throws a clean pool of light downward. The LED sits deep inside the housing behind a flat acrylic lens, so you see the light on the floor and wall rather than the source itself. At 3.1 inches across and 3.3 inches tall it is small enough to repeat in a run down a hallway or over a bench without crowding the ceiling. It mounts on a wall just as readily, and it needs no recess cut into the plaster.

Recessed downlights need a hole cut in the ceiling and a void above it to sit in. A surface mount spotlight does the same job without either, which is why it turns up in concrete apartments, rendered ceilings, rentals and anywhere the space above the plaster is already full. This fixture is the compact version of that idea, sized to be repeated rather than noticed on its own.
Why the Lens Sits So Deep Inside the Housing
The acrylic lens is set well back from the rim of the cylinder rather than flush with it. That recess is doing real work: it puts the bright surface out of your direct line of sight at normal standing angles, so you see the lit floor and not the emitter.
The practical effect is a tighter, more controlled beam and much less glare when you walk underneath. It is the same principle as a deep-baffle downlight, applied to a fixture that sits on the ceiling instead of inside it. In a corridor lined with several of these, that difference is the gap between a comfortable wash and a row of bright dots in your eyeline.
Ceiling or Wall, and Planning a Run
The same body mounts either way. On a ceiling it works as a downlight over a bench, a painting or a walkway. Turned onto a wall it becomes an uplight or a grazing light that skims a textured surface, which is how it is used along gallery walls.
Spacing is the thing worth planning. Because the beam is fairly controlled, pools of light read as separate unless the fixtures are close enough for the edges to overlap. Set them too far apart and you get scallops; closer together and you get an even wash. Deciding which you want before you drill saves redoing the mounting points.
Color Temperature and Dimming Options
The default is 3000K warm white, with 4000K and 6000K also available. 3000K keeps timber and warm plaster looking warm and suits living areas. 4000K is more neutral and reads as crisper over a work surface. 6000K is a cool daylight tone and is best kept to utility spaces.
A dimmable version is available that works with a Triac dimmer switch; the standard version runs from an ordinary wall switch and should not be put on a dimmer. Choose the version you need at the point of order, since the driver is built into the fixture and is not something you can swap later. The same applies to the color temperature, which is fixed in the module rather than selected on site.
The fixture is hardwired and rated IP20, so it belongs in dry indoor locations. It weighs only 1.2 lb, which means it does not need a reinforced ceiling point and can be fixed into plasterboard with appropriate anchors. Because nothing sits above the ceiling line, it is also one of the few ceiling options available when there is a concrete slab directly above the plaster.
