Round Marble Wall Sconce with a Curved Arm and LED

Stone is not an obvious material for a lampshade. It works here because marble is thin enough at this size to let light through. Put a source behind it and the disc stops being solid. The veins that run through the stone light up from within, and every disc is a different piece of stone, so no two sconces glow quite the same way.

How Light Passes Through the Marble Disc

The LED sits at the middle of the disc, on the face you see. It throws light forward and outward across the stone.

Marble is translucent at this thickness. Some of that light goes into the stone rather than off it.

What you get is a bright centre fading to a warm glow at the rim. The veins read darker or lighter depending on how the stone was cut.

The disc also bounces light back onto the wall behind, which gives a soft halo around the fixture.

It is an ambient light rather than a task light. It will not light a book, but it will light a hallway pleasantly.

Picking the 6.3 in or 9.8 in Disc

The 6.3 in disc is the smaller of the two. It suits a narrow hallway, a pair either side of a bed, or a wall where you want restraint.

The 9.8 in disc is noticeably bigger and reads as a feature. One of these on a plain wall is enough on its own.

Both sit 3.1 in from the wall, so the projection is the same either way. Only the disc changes.

In a corridor, the smaller size leaves more clearance and looks less heavy in a run.

Above a console or a bed, the larger disc balances the furniture better.

The Arm Finish, Wiring and Natural Variation

The arm curves up and over from a round wall plate. It is the only structure the fixture has.

In black, the arm reads as a drawn line against the pale stone. It is the sharper of the two.

In gold, the arm warms up the whole piece and picks up the tone of the lit marble.

The sconce is hardwired and accepts 90V to 260V, so it runs on a standard 120V supply. It needs a wall point behind the plate.

The LED is integrated and the bulb is included, so there is nothing to buy separately.

That variation is the reason to buy a stone shade rather than a printed one.

Marble is a natural stone. The veining, colour and pattern will differ from the photographs, and two discs ordered together will not match.
