Green Fluted Glass Pendant Light with a Brass Fitting

Tinted glass is usually sold on looks alone, but it changes how a room feels once the light is on. Green glass takes the blue out of a warm bulb and leaves something closer to lamplight than daylight. Against timber, plaster and stone it reads as a natural material rather than a colored one, which is why this shade suits a kitchen or a dining room better than a cool, white-tiled bathroom.

Single pendant or three-light cluster

A single head is the right choice over a bedside table, a small desk, or in a hallway where one point of light is enough. The shade is only about seven inches across, so on its own it reads as a modest, quiet fitting rather than a centerpiece.

The three-light versions come on one canopy, which matters practically: you get three shades from a single ceiling point and a single wiring job. The round canopy groups the shades close together into a cluster, good over a round table or in a stairwell. The long canopy spreads them along a line, which is what you want over a kitchen bench or a rectangular table.

Comparing the striped and waved shades

Shade A is the taller of the two at 7.48 inches, with straight vertical stripes pressed into the glass. Because it is deeper, more of the bulb sits inside the shade, so less light escapes sideways and the fitting is easier to look at from across a room.

Shade B is shorter at 5.90 inches with a waved pattern. The bulb sits lower relative to the rim, which throws more light outward and makes the glass itself the brighter object. Choose B if you want the shade to glow and A if you want the light on the surface below.

Bulbs, drop length and installation

The cord adjusts up to 59.05 inches and is trimmed to length on installation, so the same fitting works under a low ceiling or a high one. Over a bench, leave roughly 30 to 36 inches of clear space beneath the shade. In a cluster, stagger the three drops by four to six inches so they read as a composition instead of a mistake.

It takes one E26 or E27 screw bulb, not supplied. A clear filament lamp is the obvious partner here, because the fluted glass is designed to break that filament into repeats, and a frosted bulb loses most of that effect. Dimming depends on choosing a dimmable lamp and wiring it to a compatible dimmer, since the fitting has none built in.
