Frosted Glass Pendant Light with a White Pebble Shade

A round globe is a solved problem. Everybody makes one and they all look the same. This shade starts from a globe and then pushes it out of shape. The result is closer to a smooth stone: broader on one side, flatter on another, with no seam or edge anywhere. Hung on its own it reads as an object. Hung in a group of three at different heights it reads as a set of stones floating under the ceiling.

Frosted White Glass and Why the Shape Matters

The glass is frosted through the whole thickness, not sprayed on the outside. That means the bulb behind it is completely hidden. There is no filament visible from any angle and no bright spot on the surface.

What you get instead is an even, low glare glow. It is the closest a pendant comes to lighting a room without asking you to look away from it.

The uneven shape is what keeps it interesting. On a perfect sphere the light is the same everywhere. Here the wider face reads slightly brighter than the flatter one, so the shade has a light side and a shadow side even when lit.

Choosing Between 9 in, 12.5 in and 18 in

The 9 in shade is 7 in high and works in a group. Hang three at staggered heights over a hallway or a stairwell and they read as a cluster.

The 12.5 in shade is 10 in high and is the general purpose size. One over a bedside table or a console is enough on its own.

The 18 in shade is 15 in high and is a room feature. It suits a dining table, an entry or a double height space where a small pendant would disappear. Check your ceiling height before committing to it.

The Rigid Stem, Bulbs and Wiring

The shade hangs from a rigid metal stem, not a cord. That fixes the height and stops the shade turning or swinging. It is the right choice for a shape like this, because an uneven shade on a cord never settles in the same position twice.

The trade off is that the drop is set at install rather than adjusted later. Work out your height before the fixture goes up.

The socket takes an E26 or E27 bulb and none is supplied. A frosted shade this thick eats some light, so pick a brighter bulb than you would for clear glass. Warm white near 2700K suits it. The fixture is for indoor use and rated 110V-120V and 220V-240V.
