Flush Mount Wall Light with Ribbed Acrylic Disc

A bare LED on a wall is a bright dot you cannot look at. Put frosted acrylic in front of it and the dot becomes a disc. Rib that acrylic and the disc gains texture. This fixture does both. The result is a small round glow you can look straight at without squinting. It sits close to the wall, so it works in a hallway where anything deeper would catch a shoulder.

What the Ribbed Acrylic Does to the Light

The acrylic is frosted rather than clear. It spreads the LED across the whole face of the disc.

The ribs are cut as fine rings on the front surface. Each ring catches the light at a slightly different angle.

That gives the disc depth. It reads as a lit object rather than a flat panel, and it changes as you walk past it.

There is no visible bulb and no hot spot. You can hang this at eye level in a hallway and it will not dazzle anyone.

A Wall Light Only 3.5 in Deep

The fixture projects 3.5 in from the wall. That is shallow for a sconce, and it matters in a tight space.

In a hallway or a stairwell it stays clear of anyone walking past. Nothing to knock with an elbow or a bag.

Beside a bed it clears the pillow. Mounted above a nightstand, it lights the surface without leaning into the room.

At 5.3 in across it is small enough to run in a series. Three or four spaced along a corridor wall read as a set.

Two mounted either side of a bed give a matched pair. Because the disc is round and small, they read as part of the wall rather than as furniture. There is no shade to line up and no arm to align.

Choosing Gold or Black and Fitting It

The backplate is the only part you can pick. Gold warms the acrylic and picks up the glow at the edge.

Black gives a hard outline instead. Against a pale wall the disc reads as a bright circle with a dark ring behind it.

The LED is built in and cannot be changed. Nothing needs buying alongside the fixture.

It is hardwired to a wall box and rated for indoor dry locations only. Keep it out of bathrooms and any covered outdoor space.

Wipe the acrylic with a dry or barely damp cloth. Solvent cleaners will haze the surface and the ribs will hold the marks. Dust does not collect in the rings, so it needs very little attention.
