Double Glass Wall Sconce with an Iron Frame

Grey, white or clear glass

White glass is opaque enough to hide the bulb entirely and gives the softest, most even result. It is the right choice beside a bed or anywhere the sconce sits at eye level, since there is no glare from any angle.

Clear glass shows the bulb and gives the brightest, sharpest light, which suits a hallway or above a console where you want the fitting to sparkle. Grey sits between the two, cutting glare while keeping some of the reflection off the glass surface. With clear glass in particular, the bulb you choose becomes part of the look.

E14 bulbs and the voltage rating

The two sockets are E14, the small screw base, so check that before ordering since it is smaller than the E26 and E27 lamps most fittings use. Small candle or golf ball LEDs in a warm 2700K suit the shape, and with two lamps the combined output is enough for a hallway without being harsh.

The voltage is listed as AC 110 to 120 V, which is a narrower range than most of the fittings in this range and matches North American mains directly. It is hardwired, so a permanent installation needs an electrician, and the shipping weight of around 3 pounds means standard wall fixings will hold it in plasterboard with the right anchors.
