Rechargeable Cordless Wall Sconce

A cordless wall sconce built as a long slim bar with an internal rechargeable battery, so it goes on a wall that has no wiring behind it at all. Fixing is screws or adhesive and takes minutes. The reason most picture lights never get fitted is not the fixture, it is the cable. Screws are the sensible choice on textured surfaces, on the longer 50 inch units, or anywhere the fitting will be taken down often for charging.

Match the length to what it is lighting rather than to the wall. Above a picture, a fixture roughly two thirds to three quarters of the frame width lights the canvas evenly without overshooting the edges. Over a bathroom mirror or a vanity, closer to the full width of the mirror is usually better because you want even light across a face.

Remote, Touch Dimming and Colour Settings

Two controls are provided and both are useful. The touch sensor on the fitting is quicker when you are standing next to it, and the wireless remote matters when the sconce is high on a wall or behind furniture where reaching up is awkward. The auto-shutoff timer is the one that protects the battery from a light left on by accident.

Three colour modes are built in. Warm white at 3000K flatters oil paintings, timber frames and skin tones, so it is the default above artwork and mirrors. The 4000K neutral setting is more accurate for photographs and prints where colour fidelity matters. The 6000K cool setting is best kept for task use, as it reads cold against most interior finishes.
