Battery Operated Wall Sconce in a Cube with Touch Dimming

Wall lights normally arrive with a condition attached. You need a wired point, and if there is not one you need an electrician. This one skips that. A plate goes on the wall, the cube holds to it with a magnet, and the battery does the rest. Tap the bottom to switch it on. Hold to dim. When it needs charging, take it off the wall and plug it in. Nothing is chased into a wall and nothing is permanent.

Wireless, and How That Works Day to Day

The mounting plate fixes to the wall. The cube attaches to it magnetically and comes off in one movement.

There is no cable running down the wall and no socket needed nearby.

Charging is over a Type C cable from any usual source. The port is on the back, behind the plate, so it stays hidden in use.

That also makes the light portable. Off the wall it works on a shelf, in a wardrobe or as an emergency light.

The cube is shallow at 3.1 in deep. In a corridor it stays clear of anyone walking past, which matters more for a battery fixture because it is the one you are most likely to knock off its plate.

Touch Dimming and the Sensor Switch

A touch switch sits on the underside of the cube. Tap it to turn the light on and off.

Hold a finger on it and the brightness runs up and down. Let go at the level you want.

That range matters at a bedside. Low, it works as a night light. High, it is bright enough to read by.

A sensor switch is also built in, so the fixture can respond to movement instead of a touch.

Dimming a battery light also extends its run time. At a low setting a charge lasts noticeably longer than at full brightness, so a bedside fixture goes weeks between charges.

Two Beams and Three Finishes

The cube is open top and bottom and closed on the sides. Light leaves as a cone up the wall and a cone down it.

The inside of the shade is a warm gold tone, so the cones carry a warm cast even with a neutral LED.

Three finishes are offered. Black is the strongest contrast on a pale wall. White is quiet and almost disappears.

The wood finish is the warmest of the three. It suits a bedroom or a hallway with timber floors and furniture.

The plate is small and the cube covers it entirely. Nothing shows around the edge, so the fixture reads as a solid block on the wall rather than as something clipped onto it.
