The body grows with the wattage, so size and output go together.

3W and 5W sit on a 3 in body and suit a cupboard or a small porch.

7W and 9W move up to 4 in and work in a hallway.

12W and 15W suit a bedroom or a bathroom.

18W and 20W sit on the 5.9 in body for a living room.

Several small lights give a more even ceiling than one large one.

Space them roughly their mounting height apart for an even spread.

Buying one size up costs little and gives you headroom.

A slightly bright light on a dimmer beats a dim one at full output.

Three Finishes

White is the default and disappears into a white ceiling.

Black turns each light into a deliberate dot on the ceiling.

That reads well in a row and badly scattered at random.

Gold is the warmest and suits a room with brass or timber in it.

All three share the same frosted face, so the light itself matches.

The finish is on the rim, which is all you see from below.

The LED is integrated, so there is no lamp to replace.
