Dining Room Pendant Light Fixtures in Ribbed Prismatic Glass
The glass on this bell pendant is ribbed rather than smooth, and that is what it is for. Fine vertical prisms run the full depth of the shade, so a single bulb behind them breaks into rows of small bright lines instead of one flat glare. Lit over a dining table it throws texture onto the table and the faces around it. The holder is brass toned with a black cord that adjusts to 47 in, and the socket takes any standard E26 or E27 bulb. Six glass colors are offered, from clear and amber through to red and blue.

Ribbed glass was not invented to look good. Prismatic shades were standard in factories and workshops because the ribs bend the light outward and spread it further than plain glass does, which meant fewer fixtures over the same floor. The look that came out of that is the reason the shape is still made, but the optical trick is real and it is what makes the shade glitter rather than glare.
Hanging It Over a Table
Over a dining table the usual figure is 28 to 34 in of clear space between the table top and the bottom of the shade. That keeps the fixture below eye level for people standing and above it for people seated, which is the narrow band where a pendant lights the table without anyone looking into the bulb. The 47 in cord covers that from a standard ceiling.
One pendant suits a round table or a small square one, hung dead center. For a long rectangular table, two or three hung in a line work better than one large fixture, because the light follows the shape of the table instead of leaving the ends dim. The shade is small enough that a row of three does not visually block the length of the room.
The Six Glass Colors and How They Read Lit
Clear and amber behave as neutrals. Clear gives the brightest, most honest light and shows the ribbing most sharply; amber warms everything under it and is the easiest of the six to live with over a table you eat at every night. Smoke gray sits between them and knocks back the output slightly.
Red, orange and blue are the statement options and they behave differently from the neutrals. Colored glass tints the light passing through it, so a red shade throws warm red onto the table below and a blue one cools it noticeably. That is worth knowing before choosing one for a room where food is served. Hung as a mixed trio, which the supplier photographs show, the effect is deliberate rather than accidental.
Choosing a Bulb for a Prismatic Shade
No bulb is included, and the choice matters more here than on a solid shade. The whole point of prismatic glass is that you see the light source through it, so a clear filament bulb reads as a bright coil refracted across every rib, while a frosted or opal bulb gives a softer, more even glow with less sparkle. Both look right; they are different effects.
The socket takes standard E26 or E27 screw fittings and accepts LED, incandescent or fluorescent, so the fixture can be dimmed by choosing a dimmable bulb and pairing it with a compatible dimmer. The holder is brass toned metal on a black fabric cord, and the fixture accepts both 110V-120V and 220V-240V supply.
