Brass Wall Sconce with a Vintage Ribbed Glass Shade
This brass wall sconce holds a clear ribbed glass shade on a short arm. The ribs break the light into fine lines, so the glow is soft rather than harsh. The arm tilts and the shade swivels. Point it down at a book or up the wall. The shade is 4.7 inches across and 5.1 inches tall. That is small enough for a narrow hallway or a bedside wall. It mounts on a round brass-toned backplate and wires straight into the wall. It takes one E26 bulb, which is not included.

A sconce this size is an accent, not a room light. It puts a warm pool on the wall beside whatever it is lighting. The ribbed glass is what makes it work. Smooth glass would show the filament as one hot spot. The fluting spreads it into fine vertical lines instead, which is why it reads as soft from across the room.
Where This Sconce Works
Beside a bed it sits at about shoulder height when you are sitting up. Tilt the shade down and it lights a book without lighting the whole room.
Above a console or a dresser, mount it a little above eye level. A pair either side of a mirror gives even light on a face, with no shadow under the chin.
Along a hallway, space a run of them evenly. The small shade means they do not crowd a narrow wall, and the arm keeps the glass clear of your shoulder.
It is one bulb, so treat it as a layer. Put it beside a ceiling light or a lamp rather than in place of one.
The Ribbed Glass and the Brass Finish
The shade is clear glass with vertical fluting. It tapers from a narrow top to a wider rim. Light passes straight through it, so the bulb you choose matters.
A warm bulb suits the brass tone. A clear filament bulb shows through the ribs and is part of the look. A frosted bulb softens it further if the glare bothers you.
The metal is brass-toned rather than solid brass. It is a warm yellow finish, not an aged or antiqued one, so it sits better with modern hardware than with dark patina.
A knurled brass collar sits above the glass and holds the shade. A small thumbscrew on the arm locks the angle once you have set it.
Fitting It
This sconce is hardwired. There is no plug and no cord, so it needs a wall box behind the backplate. The backplate is round and covers a standard box.
It takes one standard E26 screw bulb and the bulb is not included. The supplier rates it for 110 V to 120 V, which is US mains.
Both joints move, so you set the angle after it is on the wall. Loosen the thumbscrew, turn the shade to where you want it, then tighten it again.
Neither the supplier nor the source listing states a damp or wet rating. Two of the gallery photos show it above a bathroom basin. Treat those as styling. Keep it out of a wet area until that rating is confirmed.
