Wood Pendant Light with a Slatted Dome Shade
Curved wood blades slot into two rings to build a dome shade. The gaps between the blades let light out sideways as well as down. That throws soft stripes across the wall and ceiling when the lamp is on. Five diameters run from 7.1 to 19.7 inches, so you can hang a small one over a bedside or a wide one over a dining table. It hangs on a cord and takes one E27 bulb, which you supply.

A solid shade sends all its light straight down. This one does not. The shade is built from curved wood blades with a gap between each one. Light escapes through the gaps and lands on the wall as a set of soft stripes. You get a pool of light on the table and a pattern on the wall behind it, from a single bulb.
Picking the Right Diameter
There are five sizes: 7.1, 11.8, 13.8, 16.5 and 19.7 inches across. The size changes the look more than the brightness, because every one holds a single bulb.
The two small sizes work in a group. Hang three in a row over a kitchen island or a counter. They also suit a bedside, hung low on one side of the bed to free up the table.
The larger sizes work alone. A 16.5 or 19.7 inch dome over a dining table gives one clear focal point. As a rule, pick a shade about half the width of the table below it.
How the Shade Is Built
The shade arrives flat as a set of parts. There is an upper ring, a lower ring and the wood blades. Each blade slots into both rings and the dome takes shape as you work round it.
Nothing is glued, so a blade can be taken out again if you need to reach the bulb. Flat packing is also why a 19.7 inch shade ships at only 3.3 lb.
The blades are bamboo and wood, so the grain and tone vary a little from one to the next. Lit from inside, the wood glows amber and the blade edges read as dark lines.
Hanging It and Choosing a Bulb
The pendant hangs on a cord from a ceiling plate, so the drop is easy to shorten during fitting. Over a dining table, leave about 30 to 36 inches between the table and the bottom of the shade.
It takes one E27 screw bulb and no bulb is supplied. A warm white LED around 2700K suits the wood best and keeps the amber glow.
Because the shade is open, the bulb is partly visible from below. A frosted bulb is kinder to the eyes at a dining table than a clear one with a bright filament.
The fixture runs on 90 to 260V and carries CCC, CE, CQC, RoHS and UL marks. Wipe the wood with a dry cloth only. Do not use a damp cloth or spray cleaner on it, because water will raise the grain and can warp a thin blade.
