This recessed LED strip light is a solid silicone extrusion, 0.47 inches square, with a flange that tucks it into a channel so only the lit face shows. Silicone bends around curves and corners that a rigid aluminum profile cannot follow, which is why it suits stair nosings, cove details and the edge of a pool deck. Linear lighting is bought on shape more than on brightness. A rigid aluminum channel gives a crisp straight line and stops dead at a corner. Powering a Low Voltage Linear Light

This is a 24V DC product, so it does not connect to a wall circuit directly. A transformer steps mains down to 24 volts, and the strip runs off that. Low voltage is the reason it is safe near water and under foot, and it is also the reason you have to budget for a driver and somewhere to hide it.

Size the driver from the run you actually buy. The strip is rated 10 watts for 1050 lumens, and a longer run draws proportionally more, so a transformer sized for a 16 foot length will not carry 132 feet. Long runs also lose voltage over distance and go dimmer at the far end, which is normally solved by feeding power from both ends or splitting the run into shorter circuits.
