A bare bulb fixture is an odd thing to buy on paper. You are paying for a plate, an arm and a socket, and the part that everyone looks at comes separately. But that is also why it works. The fixture stays out of the way and the bulb does the styling. Swap the bulb and you have changed the light without touching the wall or the wiring.

A Sconce Built Around the Bulb You Pick

The socket is the visible detail here. It is ridged metal, finished to match the plate, and it holds the bulb clear of the wall. Above it a square arm runs back to a round backplate. Square arm against round plate is the only shape decision the design makes, and it is what stops the fixture reading as a plain bulb holder.

Because nothing shades the bulb, the bulb is the choice that matters. A clear globe filament gives the look in the photos, with the coil visible and a warm point of light. A frosted globe gives the same shape with less glare, which is the safer pick beside a bed. A small candle bulb makes the whole thing look leaner. All of them screw into the same E26 base.

One Light or Two, and Where Each Goes

The 1-light is 4 in wide and 7.5 in high. It is small enough to sit either side of a bed, beside a mirror, or in a row down a hallway. The 2-light is 10.5 in wide at the same 7.5 in height, with two sockets on a horizontal bar. That is the one for above a bathroom mirror or a console, where you want an even wash rather than a single point.

Three finishes are offered. Black disappears against a dark wall and reads as a silhouette against a light one. Brass warms up a plain wall and picks up the color of a filament bulb. Chrome is the coolest of the three and suits a bathroom or a room with other polished metal in it.

Fitting and What Is Not Included

This is a hardwired fixture for indoor use. It mounts to a standard wall box behind the round backplate, so there is no cord and no plug. If the wall has no box in the right spot, that is an electrician job before the sconce arrives, not after. Voltage is listed as 110V-240V, which covers US mains.

No bulb is included, and the spec allows LED, incandescent or fluorescent in the E26 base. Buy the bulb at the same time as the fixture rather than after, because on a bare bulb sconce the wrong bulb is not a small problem. It is the only thing anyone will look at.
