Up and Down Outdoor Wall Light in a Slim Waisted Body
This up and down outdoor wall light is a narrow column that pinches in at the waist. Light leaves the top and the bottom, so you get a wide beam above and a wide beam below. The body is only 2.4 in wide, which keeps it flat against a wall in a corridor or on a facade. It is IP65 rated and runs at 6W. Three heights are available, from 6.3 in up to 13.8 in, in black, white or gold.

The waist in the middle is not decoration. It narrows the body between the two lamps, which is what lets the beams open out cleanly above and below. The result is an hourglass of light on the wall rather than a flat wash. At 2.4 in wide it barely projects, so it works in a corridor where a deeper fixture would be in the way. IP65 means it handles rain outside as well.
One Fixture, Two Beams
Light leaves the open top and the open bottom of the column.
Each beam widens as it travels away from the fixture.
On a textured wall the edge of the beam catches the surface and shows it up.
The two lamps sit at opposite ends of the column and face away from each other.
The waist between them keeps the beams from meeting on the wall.
That gap of shadow across the middle is what makes the shape read.
Close to the fixture each beam is tight, then it opens out.
On brick or stone the effect is much stronger than on flat paint.
Mounted on a plain wall you get two clean triangles instead.
Leave clear wall above and below or half the effect is lost.
Indoors and Outdoors
The IP65 rating covers rain and hose spray, so a facade is fine.

Choosing a Height
The 6.3 in version is a discreet marker light along a path or corridor.
The 13.8 in version reads as a proper feature on a large wall.
The 6.3 in version is subtle and suits a run along a path.
The 9.4 in version is the middle option and the easiest to place.
The 13.8 in version is over a foot tall and becomes a feature.
All three are 2.4 in wide, so the profile never changes.
Gold suits warm materials like brick and timber.
Black holds its outline against render and light stone.
White is the one that disappears on a pale wall in daylight.
