The socket is E14, which is the smaller screw base, not the standard E26 that most American fixtures take. Check that before you buy a bulb, because an E26 will not fit. The maximum is 15W, so this is not a bright fixture. Think of it as a pool of light over one surface rather than something that will light a room on its own.

Over a table of any size you want two or three in a row, spaced far enough apart that the pools of light overlap slightly rather than running as one continuous band. The shallow disc means they read as a line of thin horizontals rather than a row of bulky shades.

How the Walnut Toned Ash and Brass Age

The shade is ash finished to a walnut tone, so the grain runs through it visibly rather than sitting under a flat paint. That matters in a room with other timber in it, because the fixture picks up on oak, walnut or pine rather than fighting with it. It also means every piece varies slightly, which is normal for a wooden shade and not a fault.

The brass hardware and the twisted fabric cord are the other half of the character. Brass warms with handling and time rather than staying uniform, which is worth knowing if you want it to look identical in five years.
