Modern Globe Pendant Light Opal Glass Ball Metal Stem

Opal glass is white all the way through rather than coated on the inside. That means the ball lights evenly and you never catch a bright spot where the filament sits. Above it, a slim metal stem holds the globe and joins the cord. The whole fixture is small, so it hangs beside a bed or clusters over a bench without crowding the space. Two globe sizes and three cord and finish combinations are offered.

Why Opal Glass Reads So Evenly

The white is in the glass, so light passes through the whole thickness.

There is no hot spot and no visible filament from any angle.

The ball looks the same lit or unlit, only brighter.

Coated glass shows a bright ring where the coating is thin.

Opal glass is white through its whole thickness, so that never happens.

The ball reads as one even tone from any angle.

That makes it comfortable to sit beside at eye height.

It also means the fixture looks the same lit or unlit, only brighter.

The lamp inside is never visible through the glass.

A bulb is supplied with the fixture according to the source.

Two Globe Sizes

The 5.9 in globe suits a bedside drop or a row over a narrow bench.

The 7.9 in globe carries more weight on its own over a table.

The 5.9 in globe takes an E14 lamp on the supplied drawings.

The 7.9 in globe takes the larger E27 lamp.

The smaller globe suits a bedside drop or a row over a narrow bench.

The larger globe carries a table on its own.

Three of the smaller size in a row often beats one large pendant.

Set every drop to the same height when hanging a row.

The canopy is 3.9 in across on both sizes.

Cord and Finish

Brass with a brass braided cord is the warmest combination.

Black stem with a black cord almost disappears against a pale ceiling.

The cord is 78.7 in long and adjusts at the canopy.

Set the drop before you tighten it.
